Novel Except. In the Between

Below is an excerpt of one of my novel manuscripts: “In the Between.’ I’ve parked this one because it needs more work and time than I have to dedicate to it at the moment. It’s the first one I wrote, which means it’s the worst. I cringe when I read parts of it, but that’s all part of the learning process. I posted the excerpt below just so I don’t feel so bad neglecting it.

Warning: Swearing, sexual references. It’s a pretty raw scene towards the end of the book.

Finding the Forgotten.

I’m in a little bit of a pickle. You see, I had a fabulous idea. I remember getting it and thinking, “Wow, this is the best idea I’ve ever had.” Seriously, it was that good. I should have written it down, I should have made rough notes, I should have called a friend to tell them about it before I lost it. Continue reading

Strange Kind of Ordinary.

I often wonder what makes seemingly ordinary people want to write. I’m an average person, I like watching The Blacklist and Supernatural. I do my grocery shopping and wash my clothes like regular people. I have a 9-5 job, a husband and a child.

Yes. My imaginary friends are real.

Creativity in Everyday Life.

I like to think that I’ve got it together. I have my days packed and I’m busy from the time I wake up at 5am to the time I fall asleep at about 10pm. I work full time in a non-writing job and I have Miss 2 running around the place. I was asked recently how I do it? Not the scheduling, but how after a busy day, do I get in the mindset of being creative.

Oops. What if they find out?

I’m a pretty reserved person. Let’s all take a moment and wait for my family and friends to stop laughing.

Am I Missing Something? Are You?

So, this is one of those blog posts that I had to check whether or not it was insulting to my husband. He doesn’t think so, which means I am sharing it with all of you.

What’s in a name?

After the wonderful response I got from my posts Man Meet’s World and What a Mistake!, I decided to write the conversation I had with my characters about renaming them?

Hey you! Come procrastinate with me!

Disclaimer:  If you’re reading this blog you’re probably wondering what the point of it is? Well, there isn’t one and I’m sorry about that. I’m procrastinating. It’s a perfect time to write this blog because I am procrastinating about writing about procrastination. I’m at my desk and have just devoured a whole plate of baklava and coffee and now I’m buzzed on sugar and sweet black caffeine and I don’t want to write.

I’ll just rest for a little…
