Fire Drake.

This one came out of the blue. Perhaps I need to spend some time with these characters. I do love Dragons.

“You need to leave!” She whispered yelled at him.

“Why?” He said, not out loud it was inside her head.

“Because my neighbours aren’t accustomed to seeing a dragon in my backyard!”

“Once every warrior had a dragon. Are there no more warriors?”

“I’m not a warrior. I’m a 17 year old girl whose parents are going to kill her!”

“Should I eat them?”

“No! Do not eat my parents.” She took a deep breath and held her palm out to the giant red scaled beast, from her second storey bedroom window she was high enough to talk to his face.

“Look. I didn’t mean to open that hatch and release you. I just felt like looking. It doesn’t mean I am destined to fight in some ancient battle.”

“Not ancient. Now. The Elkron Riders have followed your spirit here. They seek to use your blood to open the portal and bring hell upon your realm.”

“Awesome. One problem at a time. What am I going to do with you? I don’t suppose you become invisible?”

“Oh. Not invisible, but I can Shapeshift. Would a canine be more appropriate for this time period.”

“A dog? Yes. Yes. A dog would be perfect.”

She leaned out of the window as the massive beast shrunk down into a German shepherd.

“Now.” It said inside her mind. “Let me in so we can talk about how ancient riders wish to sacrifice you.”

She leaned her head against the window frame. “This morning all I had to worry about was my English assignment.”
